Eat Mor Chikin!

Tonight we started a new family tradition...participating in Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-A.  Earlier in the week we started preparing Ellie, and she didn't seem to keen on the idea of dressing like a cow, but today she really got into it.  She was "mooing" up a storm and so proud of her cow attire.  We had a fun night together and got some yummy free food to boot!

A few of her favorite things...

sitting in tiny chairs and reading books.
I know I'm slightly biased, but she just keeps getting cuter and cuter!

One Year Old

19.5 pounds
28 inches

Sweet Lucy Kate you have filled our lives this past year with so much joy!  I can't believe you used to be this little.  Getting to know you, and watch you grow has been such a blessing to us (even big sis).  We love everything about you, from your infectious smile to your chunky little thighs.

You love Ellie, balloons, blueberries, swinging, dancing, and books at this age.  You are either really happy or really angry...there is no in-between with you, girl!  You are our loud girl who lets us know what you want and what you don't.  You give the best kisses and we love you more and more each day!

We are so thankful that the Lord chose us to be your parents, and we are excited to see what He has in store for your little life!

Lucy Turns 1!

On June 16th we celebrated the first year of Lucy's life with family and a small cook-out.  Here are a few pictures from that day...

White Lake 2012

Here are a few pictures of the annual Avery family reunion down at White Lake...

Most nights after dinner we had fun playing kickball.  There's a video of Ellie kicking at the end of this post!

Lucy got a lot of attention from her older cousins!

Ellie spend most of her time in the water in her float this year.

Thanks to this curious girl, I spent most of my time chasing her around instead of relaxing this year.

Here's a video of Ellie kicking the kickball for the first time...

Last Day

Today was Ellie's last day of preschool for the year.  And you would think by how emotional I got on the way to drop her off this morning that it was her last day EVER!  I tell ya' these girls do it to me every time.  I've always been a crier, don't get me wrong, but since becoming a Mommy the waterworks flow even easier.  Every milestone, is great and such a joy to experience with them, but it also means they are growing up.  Even though some days I look forward to exiting this stage, others I want to cling to it for dear life because it means they are still little and innocent.

I can't believe how much she's grown since the first day...here.

Hoola Hoop

A month ago for a fun activity I took Ellie to the dollar store with $5 to spend however she wanted.  One of her purchases was this hoola hoop.  It has provided lots of entertainment and some great laughs, too.  I guess I should tell her she needs to shake her hips instead of her shoulders and head...or maybe I'll just wait a little while! :)
