A Letter for Lucy

Hey Sweet Girl,

It's hard to believe that in 5 weeks (or less, hopefully) you will be here in my arms, and out of my rib cage! Your daddy and I are so excited to meet you... more than you'll ever know. We can't wait to watch you breathe your first breath and to hear your first cries, to hug and kiss you for the first time. You are loved little one, and that is a fact! We have been talking a lot lately about what you'll look like and when we think you will decide it's time to come out. Your due date is June 29th, but my guess is around the 21st. Your daddy thinks it will be around the 25th. Either way your room is ready, and now we are just waiting.

Oh yeah, just as a warning, your big sister, Ellie is excited to meet you, too. You know, she's the one you've been hearing for a while now laughing, singing, and talking to you. She is a crazy nut, so get ready! She talks all the time about holding you and tickling you. Prepare yourself, because I'm sure she'll be in your face a lot, but know that it's just because she loves you so much!

Oh yeah, could your help your mommy out and cooperate when it's time for you to be born. By this I mean please turn the right way so I don't have to have another c-section! Don't forget, if you want to make a break for it a few weeks early that would be great too. Thanks!

Love,
Mommy

Our New Ride

As of yesterday afternoon we are the proud new owners of a Honda Odyssey, and we couldn't be more thrilled! It all began the first week in April when our car was totalled in an accident. Since then we have been searching high and low for a clean, reliable and affordable used minivan for our growing famliy. Many days and nights have been spent searching the internet, driving all around tarnation in search of the right van for us.

We thought we had found "the one" two times but after a trip to our mechanic they were quickly given the thumbs down due to major engine issues. But yesterday that all changed when Brad called me with good news that this van was in great shape. In fact, our mechanic couldn't find a thing wrong with it at all! We both breathed a sigh of relief when we signed all of the paperwork last night and I drove our new ride home. We are so thankful for the Lord's provision for us yet again. We are looking forward to driving Miss Lucy home from the hospital in it in a little over a month!

Jean's Berry Patch 2011

On Friday we took our annual trip to Jean's Berry Patch to pick some yummy strawberries. Ellie's favorite part again this year was eating them, of course. I would venture to guess she ate 10-15 of them and that was only because we cut her off! So far we have made some strawberry muffins, cobbler, preserves, and I have plenty to freeze and eat later.

Sprinkler Fun

Lately, one of Ellie's favorite things to do is play in her new sprinkler. She loves running around in the water, filling up buckets and "washing" her car. I have a feeling that our water bill may be rising with the temperatures this year.

Easter 2011

This year we had a nice, relaxing Easter at home just the 3 of us, and it was so nice! After church we went out to lunch with our friends, the Suttons. When we got home I tried to take a few Easter pics of Ellie and here they are...

My favorite!

Her cheezy smile

On Good Friday we dyed Easter Eggs with Ellie for the first time. She didn't want to wait for the eggs to dye, but other than that I think she had fun.
